"Designer" Golf Lingerie Set

Image
AS much as I love golf balls (and lingerie too I guess) I am just not sure about the wisdom of combining them with a bra and pantie set. This "revolutionary golfing lingerie set" comes from the fabulous people at MioDestino, who sound all very ultra European designer chic until you realise they are just Pommies trying to make a quid with a bit of fun. Their thinking is, if men can't decide between playing a round, and playing around, they can combine the two. This is direct from the Mio Destino website: "Guys, would you rather…. a) Spend a cosy night in with your beautiful partner? b) Do a few rounds of golf with friends on a sunny Saturday afternoon? If you either answered b) or slightly hesitated then shame on you! Mio Destino is here to help you become a better man with a solution that means you won’t ever need to make that difficult decision again. The brand new golfing bra and knicker set from Mio Destino is the answer for all golf lovers who feel they neglect ...

Cristie Kerr's beaming win

Image
Lovely lady golfer Cristie Kerr reckons putting is what she does best but this photo proves she is also pretty good at smiling. In this pic it is hard to see which is shining brighter, Cristie’s beaming face or the huge trophy she accepted for winning the Safeway Classic. (Excessive Schmaltz Violation Warning!) Afterwards, Cristie claimed all she had wanted was a chance to win the Safeway Classic with her putter. When she did get the chance she nailed it, rolling in a 20 foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to beat Helen Alfredsson and Sophie Gustafson at the Columbia Edgewater Country Club. "I said to myself, 'Get in the fairway, get on the green and give yourself a chance, because putting is what I do best,' " Cristie said. "That putt was a lot more difficult than the one I had in regulation," she said. "It broke a couple feet. It's a pretty amazing putt to make in a playoff." For the self belief, for the smile, heck, for a whole lot of...

Michelle Wie's Strange Sunglasses Ritual

Image
What the hell is Michelle Wie doing with those sunglasses? Something weird. But I suppose you need something to keep your mind off things and help you relax between shots. Though she should definitely take another look at her grip technique. That's not going to help her in the men's events.

Paula Creamer on the button

Image
We're not sure whether to nominate Paula Creamer for the Love Those Lady Golfers Lady Golfer of the Year Award or not. We thought there would have been a flood of nominations for her from outside but there has been barely a trickle. Perhaps it is because naughty Natalie Gulbis has been hogging all the limelight. This is an old shot of Paula and it does show she goes to great lengths with her golf, even matching her driver shaft with her outfit. And we're not saying anything about the belly button. As long as it is pointing at the target line at some point during the follow through it is okay by us. We'll have to ponder this conundrum a lot further. That's a big and elegant (though very apt) word for what we do here.

Kim Hall parting the waters

Image
Now I don’t want to talk out of school, but this photo of lovely LPGA golfer Kim Hall is more than a little suspicious. Kim was competing in the first round of the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic when this was taken and not doing too well. She was on her way to a 71 and a tie for 56th position when, shortly after this shot was taken, lightening and heavy rain stopped play. Now I can’t say for certain that Kim is shown here using her powers to summon a severe storm to get her out of a sticky situation, but if she’s not doing that, what the hell is she doing? If it was Moses – on a golf course – you would say he was parting the waters on the dam leading to the 17th green to make way for his approach shot. But it isn’t. We’ll be watching Kim very closely to see what else she gets up to. To that end, Kim has been nominated for the Love Those Lady Golfers Lovely Lady of the Year Award.

Sandra Gal in the Wilhelmina 7

Image
Everyone knows you can’t eat golf clubs, especially drivers (I’ve tried). Maybe that’s why Sandra Gal (pictured) has signed up as one of the “Wilhelmina 7”, a hand-picked group of seven LPGA pros represented by Wilhelmina Artist Management, a division of the New York modeling agency that includes such clients as singers Fergie and Ciara and actress Heather Graham. The seven top members of the LPGA Tour have signed exclusive representation agreements with Wilhelmina to seek out sponsorship and endorsement opportunities for the women as a whole package and individually. As well as Sandra, the Wilhelmina 7 includes Minea Blomqvist, Anna Grzebien, Kim Hall, Johanna Head, Mikaela Parmlid, and Stacy Prammanasudh. Announcing the move, Wilhelmina Chairman Dieter Esch said: This was perfect, to show the world there are sexy, athletic women who can play." Strangely, that’s just about the mission of Love Those Lady Golfers as well, so we are all for it. "We created this initiative to co...

Women tennis players bitchy? Never

Image
Tsk Tsk….those just slightly bitchy girls of tennis…..it wouldn’t happen with the ladies of the female golfing world….never. Russian Alla Kudryavtseva wasn’t at all nice after humiliating compatriot Maria Sharapova in the second round at Wimbledon with a 6-2 6-4 embarrassment. Commentators say Kudryavtseva, world No 154, laid bare the simmering resentment felt by many Russian players towards their glamorous compatriot. "It's very pleasant to beat Maria. Why? Well, I don't like her outfit. Can I put it this way? It's a little too much of everything. The 20-year-old was referring to Sharapova's widely-publicised Wimbledon tuxedo-style top and shorts. It’s just ladies and gentlemen in golf. Take Rocco Mediate in the recent US Open. If you have a thing about your direct opponent’s nice red shirt with black sweater, don’t complain, just turn up wearing the same outfit. A large part of Kudryavtseva's motivation

The Golf Girl's Diary

Image
" Blogging is better in a bikini" according to Patricia Hannigan from the Golf Girl's Diary. I hope she doesn't mind if we say it is just one of her published opinions we agree with (at least the bikini thing in her case that is. It would not be one of our best looks). We've added Patricia's blog to try out Blogger's new blog link option (in the sidebar) that rather than just providing a static list, gives an update of the latest posts from your favourite blogs. We're sure we won't be dissapointed getting a regular update of what the Golf Girl is on about. After all, it's good to get an authentic female opinion on all matters life and golf, rather than some of the postulated crap that seems to flow so freely from our tiny minds. For instance, in her latest post, Patricia had a serious story to go with this photo of Natalie Gulbis. We just look at it and wonder if there is a band nearby, or is Natalie just marching to an inner tune only she can ...

Lorena Ocha's dancing golf club

Image
What is it with female golfers and mind powers. Previoulsy, we had Michelle Wei levitating a golf ball in mid air, now Lorena Ocha has upped the ante with her mid air dancing golf club. If you check the position of her hands, I think it is pretty obvious she has been copying the technique used by Yoda in Star Wars. Ocha was competing in the Wegmans LPGA in Rochester NY, won by South Korea's Eun-Hee Ji, her first LPGA win. "I'm like a fly in the sky," Ji said, through a translator, after the win. We'd love to have a photo of Ji demonstrating that feat. Some people have been puzzled what she meant by the comment. We are well aware. While the other female golfers are fooling around with flying bats and balls, Ji is working on leviating herself.

Please Perry, Ditch the Pants

Image
This is Perry Swenson, she has been touted elsewhere as "an up-and-coming 24-year-old golfer who is on the cusp of qualifying for the LPGA, and once that happens, Natalie Gulbis will have some competition for being the most googled female on tour." Someone will have to get into her pants wardrobe first, chuck them all out and replace them with something a little more fetching. (An evil voice wanted me to put a full stop between "pants" and "wardrobe" there, but you won't find that sort of crap here. We don't even ogle.) Perry is yet to be nominated for the Love Those Lady Golfers Lady Golfer of the Year Award. On a number of grounds, she won't be getting a webmaster nominated exemption until we see a bit more.....potential.

Michelle Wie's Amazing Mind Powers

Image
Top female golfer Michelle Wie uses her amazing mind powers to levitate a golf ball in mid air. Even Tiger Woods can't do that, try as he might.
Image
I'm thinking of sending this image of a retro female golfer to the folks at Australian Senior Golfer . Those naked ankles will drive them wild.

Nominee Number One: Natalie Gulbis

The first nominee for the 2008 Love Those Lady Golfers Lady Golfer of the Year Award is USLPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis
