Women tennis players bitchy? Never

Image
Tsk Tsk….those just slightly bitchy girls of tennis…..it wouldn’t happen with the ladies of the female golfing world….never. Russian Alla Kudryavtseva wasn’t at all nice after humiliating compatriot Maria Sharapova in the second round at Wimbledon with a 6-2 6-4 embarrassment. Commentators say Kudryavtseva, world No 154, laid bare the simmering resentment felt by many Russian players towards their glamorous compatriot. "It's very pleasant to beat Maria. Why? Well, I don't like her outfit. Can I put it this way? It's a little too much of everything. The 20-year-old was referring to Sharapova's widely-publicised Wimbledon tuxedo-style top and shorts. It’s just ladies and gentlemen in golf. Take Rocco Mediate in the recent US Open. If you have a thing about your direct opponent’s nice red shirt with black sweater, don’t complain, just turn up wearing the same outfit. A large part of Kudryavtseva's motivation

The Golf Girl's Diary

Image
" Blogging is better in a bikini" according to Patricia Hannigan from the Golf Girl's Diary. I hope she doesn't mind if we say it is just one of her published opinions we agree with (at least the bikini thing in her case that is. It would not be one of our best looks). We've added Patricia's blog to try out Blogger's new blog link option (in the sidebar) that rather than just providing a static list, gives an update of the latest posts from your favourite blogs. We're sure we won't be dissapointed getting a regular update of what the Golf Girl is on about. After all, it's good to get an authentic female opinion on all matters life and golf, rather than some of the postulated crap that seems to flow so freely from our tiny minds. For instance, in her latest post, Patricia had a serious story to go with this photo of Natalie Gulbis. We just look at it and wonder if there is a band nearby, or is Natalie just marching to an inner tune only she can ...

Lorena Ocha's dancing golf club

Image
What is it with female golfers and mind powers. Previoulsy, we had Michelle Wei levitating a golf ball in mid air, now Lorena Ocha has upped the ante with her mid air dancing golf club. If you check the position of her hands, I think it is pretty obvious she has been copying the technique used by Yoda in Star Wars. Ocha was competing in the Wegmans LPGA in Rochester NY, won by South Korea's Eun-Hee Ji, her first LPGA win. "I'm like a fly in the sky," Ji said, through a translator, after the win. We'd love to have a photo of Ji demonstrating that feat. Some people have been puzzled what she meant by the comment. We are well aware. While the other female golfers are fooling around with flying bats and balls, Ji is working on leviating herself.

Please Perry, Ditch the Pants

Image
This is Perry Swenson, she has been touted elsewhere as "an up-and-coming 24-year-old golfer who is on the cusp of qualifying for the LPGA, and once that happens, Natalie Gulbis will have some competition for being the most googled female on tour." Someone will have to get into her pants wardrobe first, chuck them all out and replace them with something a little more fetching. (An evil voice wanted me to put a full stop between "pants" and "wardrobe" there, but you won't find that sort of crap here. We don't even ogle.) Perry is yet to be nominated for the Love Those Lady Golfers Lady Golfer of the Year Award. On a number of grounds, she won't be getting a webmaster nominated exemption until we see a bit more.....potential.

Michelle Wie's Amazing Mind Powers

Image
Top female golfer Michelle Wie uses her amazing mind powers to levitate a golf ball in mid air. Even Tiger Woods can't do that, try as he might.

I'm thinking of sending this image of a retro female golfer to the folks at Australian Senior Golfer . Those naked ankles will drive them wild.

Nominee Number One: Natalie Gulbis

The first nominee for the 2008 Love Those Lady Golfers Lady Golfer of the Year Award is USLPGA golfer Natalie Gulbis
